A 4-month-old infant is the lone survivor in a mass murder that left five adults, including one pregnant female, dead in southern Alabama, reports CBSNews.com.
Authorities said the victims were discovered yesterday afternoon inside a residence in Citronelle. Their names have not been released.
Derrick Dearman of Leakesville, Mississippi was taken into custody after walking into the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Saturday afternoon and confessing to the crimes.
Officials in the sheriff’s office said that multiple weapons were used in the murders, including a gun.
On Saturday afternoon, a woman contacted Citronelle police and reported that she had been kidnapped and escaped. This information led authorities to the Citronelle home.
