Authorities on Wednesday announced a $50,000 reward in their renewed effort to capture an individual they say committed 45 rapes, 12 homicides and dozens of burglaries across California during the1970s and 1980s, reports CBSNews.com.
The killer has gone by at least four nicknames over the decades: the East Area Rapist, the Original Night Stalker, the Diamond Knot Killer and the Golden State Killer.
The FBI has created a new website featuring maps, sketches and interviews related to the case. The agency is also launching a social media campaign in addition to releasing a mini-documentary and podcast, both of which are available via its Sacramento website here.
