CBSNews.com reports that partial remains believed to be that of a Hobe Sound, Florida mother missing since last month have been uncovered.
33-year-old Tricia Todd had not been seen since April 27 when she failed to pick up her daughter from a babysitter. Todd’s ex-husband, who is charged with her murder, led crime scene technicians to a shallow grave in the Hungryland Wildlife Management Area, where he says he buried her in an acid-filled barrel.
Authorities said the body appeared to have been dismembered with a chainsaw. DNA testing will confirm if the remains are, in fact, those of Tricia Todd.
It was announced Wednesday that the suspect, Steven Williams, had confessed to Todd’s murder and pled no contest to second-degree murder in exchange for leading authorities to Todd’s body. The deal calls for Williams to serve 35 years in a state prison; however, as the suspect only led police to partial remains, that agreement could be in jeopardy.
