CBSNews.com reports that Eulalio Tordil, an officer with Federal Protective Service police, was arrested in Maryland yesterday in connection with a 24-hour shooting spree that left three people dead and at least three others wounded.
Tordil’s rampage allegedly began on Thursday when he killed his estranged wife, Gladys, outside their daughter’s high school and shot a man who attempted to intervene. From there, Tordil shot and wounded a woman Friday morning outside of a shopping mall before shooting two men. One died, while the other is in critical condition. A half-hour later, a third victim was shot and killed while sitting in her car outside of a grocery store.
Officers apprehended Tordil on Friday by swarming his car in the parking lot of a Maryland strip mall.
Thus far, Tordil has only been charged with his wife’s murder, but more charges are expected to follow.
