The woman at the center of the “Basement of Horrors” case spanning four states has been sentenced to life plus 80 years in prison, reports CBS Philadelphia.
Prosecutors say Linda Weston and four others held various people captive in Philadelphia, Texas, Virginia and Florida from 2001 to 2011, when four victims were found in a Tacony basement.
Weston and her co-conspirators were accused of luring mentally disabled individuals into rented locations and arranged to receive their benefits in addition to forcing two female victims into prostitution. A pair of other women died while living with Weston.
Weston pleaded guilty in September to 196 criminal counts, including kidnapping, sex trafficking and conspiracy and murder in aid of racketeering in exchange for prosecutors not seeking the death penalty.
